Happy Memorial Day! We hope you enjoyed a long weekend of barbecuing and were able to stay cool during the summer’s first heat wave. Below is a roundup of technology events happening in Washington, DC this week. We are most excited about the 24-Hour City Project at the National Building Museum, an exhibit we’re participating in to map the impact of a local nonprofit’s work to provide beds, tables, and other furniture to people who don’t have them living in Washington, DC.

Wednesday, June 1
6:30 pm

Google Chrome/HTML5 Showcase: This meetup will feature a presentation from a Google developer on Chrome browser development and HTML5, and will also show off some new features in and coming to Chrome.

7:30 – 8:30 pm

HacDC’s Robotics Class: Q&A Session: Want to learn about robotics this summer? HacDC is holding an informational session on its summer robotics class that will review what the class will teach, what you’ll need to already know before signing up, and introduce the robot that will be used during the class.
