If Labor Day weekend didn’t signal the end of summer for you, today’s cold weather certainly does. And with fall, of course, things get busier in Washington, DC – and the tech scene is no different. Tuesday, September 6
7:00 pm

DC jQuery Meetup: Want to quickly learn some new tricks with jQuery? This month’s meetup will feature lightning talks on topics like javascript testing with Qunit, speeding up jQuery calls,
and getting started with HTML5 boilerplate. There will also be a couple quick talks on jQuery plugins you should know about.

Wednesday, September 7
6:00 – 8:00 pm

Crisis Mappers Meetup: Crisis Mappers is hosting a get together to casually meet and discuss what folks are working on in the mapping and disaster relief fields. Head to Local 16 if you’d like to join in!

7:00 – 9:00 pm

Geo DC Meetup: The geo scene in DC is filled with people doing interesting things. At this month’s meetup, people will present on four mapping topics, ranging from showing off maps of national broadband access and the extent of the famine in the Horn of Africa, to discussing cartographic illustration and using Geo-Django. Come out for the talks and to meet people working in this space.
