Mapping and Data Internship This Fall

Mapping and Data Internship This Fall

Looking for a full time intern to work out of our Washington, DC headquarters

We’re growing our data team and bringing on a full time mapping and data intern to work with us this fall on upcoming international development and humanitarian relief projects. This internship is for someone who wants to get their hands dirty in the data, design beautiful maps, test out technology, and play a real role in our projects.

A typical week may start with cleaning and processing a large data set and researching other open data sets that are available and applicable to the project and or country, and then end with making a map of it with our map design studio TileMill. At times the intern will also research specific information on a country or topic to provide more context to the data visualizations we make. The intern will work closely with our team, participating in strategy meetings, daily scrums, the occasional presentations to our partners – and intense foosball matches.
