Geo Meetup Next Tuesday at Stetson’s

Meetup kicks off a new, revamped geo group in Washington, DC

Next week the local Geo meetup group is re-launching, hosting the first of what will become regular meetups on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:00 pm at the upstairs bar at Stetson’s. We’re excited to attend. The meetup, led by Kathleen Danielson and Jackie Kazil, will be mostly social, focusing on bringing folks together to talk about mapping and the direction of where to take the group and meetups.

The push to restart the local geo group comes on the heels of WhereCampDC, which brought together about 300 mapping enthusiasts, mostly from the DC area, for a weekend of ignite talks, unconference sessions, and one great happy hour. We saw there that the local mapping community is large, energetic, and working on some very interesting projects, and it is exciting to see this energy carry over into regular get togethers.

Hope to see you on Tuesday!
