A few weeks ago, I put together an April Fool's Day post about a bunch of usability work that Lullabot had been doing with Drupal. My favorite April 1 posts are usually heavily based in reality, and, as we've mentioned previously, Lullabot has, in fact, been doing a lot of work trying to create a streamlined version of Drupal.

In October of 2008, Packt Publishing launched a pilot program called RAW (Read As we Write). In the RAW program, draft versions of each chapter are released as the author writes them. The initial book chosen for the pilot was Drupal 6 JavaScript and jQuery.

The more I have come to understand how Drupal works the less code I have had to write to create different types of systems. This is mainly thanks to modules such as CCK, View, Panels, Organic Groups, Ubercart, E-commerce and a couple more. I would wager that with the use of some key modules, a theme and some snippets when necessary Drupal can be used to accomplish just about all that is needed for a web system.
